Professor Moore has held visiting Professorial appointments at a number of Universities, including the Universities of Manchester, Surrey, Northumbria and Robert Gordon in Aberdeen. A graduate of the Universities of Glasgow and Stirling, his doctoral research was in the area of international fashion brand marketing. His current research interests include retailer internationalisation; luxury brand marketing and trends and developments in youth consumption.
Recent and current PhD supervision activity is in the areas of retailer brand development; the consumption activities of divorced males; luxury brand rejuvenation; the role of country-of-origin in luxury brand positioning and the retail business models of French fashion retailers.
Professor Moore has published widely, most recently in the European Journal of Marketing, The International Journal of Retailing and Distribution Management and the International Review of Retail, Distribution and Consumer Research. He also recently contributed to the leading British marketing academic textbook, Marketing Theory, edited by Professors Baker and Saren. Professor Moore has provided consulting and commissioned research services to a wide range of retailers, financial service institutions, media companies and other consumer-facing organisations in the areas of brand management, marketing strategy and consumer intelligence management.
